Opti-Max
offers Stratus Canned Air as a service to our customers for the following reasons: The
most common reason for premature home electronic failures are dust and dirt that
accumulates on the inside of the device. As the dust and dirt accumulates over
time, it prevents proper heat dissipation. "Excessive
heat causes these premature failures." This
is especially true for Personal Computers, (PCs), and TVs. All electronics are
designed to operate optimally at a certain temperature. This is why our computers
have fans located at many different locations. Other
home devices such as CRT TV's and CRT Monitors have many vent areas on the back
side to allow for air flow, and proper heat dissipation. On
most all PCs there are 2 to sometimes 3 or 4 fans installed to help keep the temperature
at an optimal level. The electronic circuitry develops heat which must be dissipated
properly to insure a long component life. #1.

Power Supply Fan #3.
Addition Case Fan. #4.
Video Card Fan The
single most important fan is located on the inside of your PC, directly on top
the CPU on the main mother board. There is usually a large "heat sink"
directly underneath this fan. The heat sink aids in the rapid removal of heat
from the CPU. Because
of the constant air flow, dust accumulates on the fan, heat sink and other components
in the area. This dust inhibits the air flow, thus allowing for excessive heat
build up. The
second most area of concern on a home PC is the power supply and fan. The power
supply will fail prematurely from dust build up on the fan and grill which will
inhibit proper air flow and cause excessive heat. I have seen this on numerous
occasions. For
these reasons we recommend cleaning with canned air at least every six months,
depending upon your environment. If you are in a dirty or extremely dusty area,
cleaning may be necessary as often as every 2 or 3 months. After
careful research, we chose the Stratus brand for the following reasons. The
canned air we offer is "totally" nonflammable. Some
of the other canned air sold today may advertise as nonflammable also. But, in
reality some of the fine print reads,"if used as directed." In
fact some of these other brands are flammable" if " the can is not held
at a proper angle. If
liquid comes out, "THE LIQUID IS FLAMMABLE." Not
so, with the air we sell. Both the air and the liquid are nonflammable The
other reason we chose this type of Stratus canned air, is that it is extremely
clean, and dry. Therefore,
we recommend removing the covers to your PC on a regular basis, and thoroughly
blowing out all the dust and debris from the entire inside cabinet area. Additional
attention should be made to the areas closest to the fans, in addition to any
heat sinks. We
offer two sizes of Stratus Canned air. 7 oz and 12 oz If
you have any questions regarding this cleaning procedure, please e-mail us with
any questions you might have. questions
